"I Kid You Not... "

(portions of the following are taken from and/or paraphrased from http://thinkprogress.org):

Yesterday, with less than two weeks remaining in the campaign, Governor Sarah Palin gave her first policy speech, urging the federal government to fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), “a law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the nation.” This is an act, by the way, that her running mate has voted against repeatedly (www.johnmccainrecord.com/disabilities/). In her speech, Palin cited the need to do more for children with disabilities such as autism:

"For many parents of children with disabilities, the most valuable thing of all is information. Early identification of a cognitive or other disorder, especially autism, can make a life-changing difference."

Palin claimed that the amount that Congress spends on earmarks “is more than the shortfall to fully fund IDEA.” She then ridiculed some of the projects — such as “fruit fly research” — saying they have little or no value:

"Where does a lot of that earmark money end up anyway? […] You’ve heard about some of these pet projects they really don’t make a whole lot of sense and sometimes these dollars go to projects that have little or nothing to do with the public good. Things like fruit fly research in Paris, France. I kid you not."

Palin did not specify what fruit fly research earmark she was referring to (presumably a grant for olive fruit fly research), but she is apparently unaware that scientific research with fruit flies has led to valuable discoveries that have boosted autism research, as a study at the University of North Carolina demonstrated last year. Scientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine have shown that a protein called neurexin is required for... nerve cell connections to form and function correctly. The discovery, made in Drosophila fruit flies may lead to advances in understanding autism spectrum disorders, as recently, human neurexins have been identified as a genetic risk factor for autism.

The study of fruit flies has also been used for other autism research and “revolutionize[d]” the study of birth defects.

In the obvious ways, I am going to miss Governor Palin... that is, until they give her a show (and substantial wardrobe/stylist budget) on Fox.

I think you'll miss Bush more....come on....admit it....you love to hate him....Sarah's just a distraction....come on now....your blackened soul needs a victim...funny, coming from the tolerant, inclusive, loving left....not.
P.S. you misspelled the website....

Graphic designers are notorious for not proofreading. The words come after the design... always. So I thank you for your keen eye. The error of my ways has been duly noted and corrected.

As for my blackened soul-- it currently yearns for a LP Goldtop, but maybe a Korean PRS semi-hollow will do.

I will freely admit that Governor Palin is a distraction, and a damned humorous one at that. Bush is much more sinister. I will miss him as I would miss cancer, my cell in Gitmo or the shrapnel embedded in my skull from friendly fire in Iraq. His presidential library will be a phone booth outside Crawford. It is his legacy and not my soul that is blackened, my friend. This liberal has no tolerance for what Bush has done to this country, its laws and the world-- none.

That's the point....like most libs, your intolerance has blinded you to rational thinking....that doesn't mean you're stupid, you just have gone too far in your hatred and now carry water for a crowd of intolerant, hateful, shortsighted anarchists. I understand the why but don't agree with the extreme run with it all. I checked that website and it's just puke. The place has the stench of death....rabid hatred of decent folk....nothing but venom. Bush is as four letter word but obuma is just as bad. his messianic crap is crap.

There's only one way to go when you want a Les Paul...get a Les Paul. A compromise will make you feel like game six ALCS although the Epi version is quite good for the money. I know the budget guitar route, but every time i see my Black Beauty or my 335, or my D-28, I know....that's the shit. Get the good stuff and you'll feel great, even if it's a coffee maker. We have a saying in good ol' Tennessee.... "buy the best and cry once".

Could you tell my log in is whak??? Aol dumped everything and I'm jumping thru hoops to get back on track.

Where's the noose??? That bunch of retards are on Fountain @Fairfax. I passed by last night and the mama's boys were only slightly defiant. They've since took it down by order of the mayor. In redondo beach, they have nobama hanging with a knife in the throat as balance. spooky........

Ah, you have joined the fray, although you have posted no blogs (for me to poke holes in). Is your moniker a tribute to David Koresh???

"That bunch of retards" was one misdirected gay resident of West Hollywood--oh, that's redundant. He is no more representative of "liberal" thinking than the Aryan hate squads are the voice of the right.

I think I could probably afford a 335 before an actual, real-live Gibson LP. I have the MIJ Epi elitist, which I brought you and was good as is. Nice guitar. Gibson has priced their guitars out of the hands of the common, intolerant hateful folk--only the elite Georgetown Cocktail Circuit crowd can afford them. Let me know what you can find out about the semi-hollow made in Korea PRS humbucker model--I am also considering the quirky Italia line or another Eastwood.

May God bless.

PRS is such a fine guitar that even the asian ones are good. I would say get it. I work on so many asian copies that are real bargains.

As far as Koresh, I needed a fresh blog profile and this was funny, also the audi. Davaudian would be better!!! AOL cut me off so quickly, that I forgot how entangled they were. I'm still sorting out contacts that I lost....oh well.

This whole neighborhood is a barack cesspool. They like what ever is unlikable and protest anything decent or normal. Probably some kind of mother complex. I don't know or care what makes these boys tick. They are extremely offensive soliciting for nobama outside Gelson's. I really get them pissed with just a slight rejection of their messiah....almost in tears like a little girl!! Then come the threats....very tolerant, loving, inclusive people they are....not. Look, I appreciate liberal thinking but they have real trouble being what they say they are. Just like the reps can no longer say they know how to run an economy. That's why I'm a libertarian and have been for 20 years. Mccain is very libertarian and Ron Paul. Our candidate this year was Bob Barr. He's new to this.

P.S. Barry Zito was just in with newly purchased guitars. He signed that huge contract with Frisco last year but his era was high and I think he misses Oakland.
