Rules are made to be...

This is the first in what I hope to be irregular and semi-frequent postings. I swore I would never do this. Then again, I never imagined myself putting chickens to bed--another story for another time. So, as the one-hit wonder soul band (who once backed up the Rolling Stones) sang, "Let the sideshow begin... "

Let me be the first to leave a comment on this awesome musing on our sad state of our nation.

First of all, Peter, guess it takes a major health event to kick start your rants to the world, huh? Got some time to kill, do ya? Having to quit smoking by someone elses direction probably adds to the intensity.

This election, more than any in my lifetime, carries that excitement and anticipation of better times. I can only presume that it was similar when Kennedy was elected.

Like you,I'm pissed at how our idiotic media hypes the Palin lipstic crap and tries to cloud over the reality of the obvious. Are people freakin nuts? I heard a woman on NPR yesterday say that the McCain/Palin ticket was "closer to god" and that was good enough for her! She even went so far as to say it didn't matter who was elected, that god was the "ultimate commander-in-chief." Please, if they win as a result of shit like that, I'm moving to the North Pole.

I'm fired up about "change." Mainly 'cause our current leadership has failed so miserably on so many levels.

Keep 'em coming, Peter. ...loved reading your thoughts.

David-- thank you for your words of encouragement. I need it! We, as countrymen, also need to vent and then get to work.

In the meantime, a minor clarification-- I am Peter's old(er) brother. I hope that won't dissuade you from sticking with me. As of now, you are my #1 fan!

Go get 'em, Barry!

To air grievances is human
To rant is Divine!
